Cosmetic dentistry refers to any dental work that improves the appearance of teeth, gums and bite. It focuses on improvement of dental aesthetic in color, position, shape, size, alignment and overall smile appearance. Cosmetic dentistry involves:
a) Addition of dental material to teeth or gums, such as porcelain veneers, crowns, gum grafts.
b) Removal of tooth structure or gums, such as enameloplasty and gingivectomy.
c) Teeth whitening, laser whitening and gum depigmentation.
d) Straightening of teeth accompanied by improvement in appearance.
